client: Jednorożec Ich Cream Shop
project: 2019
implementation: 2021
location: Warsaw

mosaic execution: Konrad Trzeszczkowski
scope: conceptual design, author's supervision
Mosaic project located in the interior of the Jednorożec ice cream parlor in Warsaw's Praga district. This is another premises of a small artisanal ice cream parlor, the first one is located in Mokotów and over the years it has gained its faithful group of recipients.
The location in a modern, but prefabricated building made us think of using wall decorations in the modernist style. The mosaic made of colorful stones is based on the colors of hand-made ice cream.
The mosaic pattern is organic irregular forms resembling fruit. The background is a gray mass with pebbles of a similar color. Colorful shapes are contained in the mass with a properly selected pigment and multi-colored stones in natural shades. The mosaic itself will be the background for the rest of the interior, currently under construction. It is located behind the future sales counter, which will be in shades of ultramarine. The entire premises will be filled with large areas of materials and colors, creating a smooth base. The mosaic will contrast with it with its diverse texture, but will refer to the whole in terms of color.
